Battery problem

MessageAuthor

I have a '98 petrol s40, and just yesterday noticed that the car had some trouble starting. I figured that I'd have to recharge/change the battery, but had no idea I'd have to do so today. Nevermind. Apparently, I can't find a way to remove the battery. It's real cold outside (-10 celsius), and it might be frozen somewhere, however I need to change it now, so if anyone can post a picture or something of what I need to do to remove it, I'd be very thankful. Oh, and I have another problem. All the doors except the drivers seem have trouble opening in this cold. Is there anything I can do to stop them freezing? Thanks in advance, my manual is in :pizza:italian:pizza: so I rely on you guys :)

RE: Battery problem

front left of battery down the bottom by the back of the headlight there is a big plastic clip. With force it should flip up although if the battery has been on there for a long time it will be quite stiff to remove.Once that is off battery will slide to the left this will release it and you can lift it out

RE: Battery problem

Hi - to stop the doors freezing, spray some WD-40 or similar (CRC etc) onto a rag and wipe the door rubbers and where they contact with the metal. This seems to do the trick. Good luck!

Thanks a lot guys, I figured the plastic clip did the trick but was unmoveable. So I pushed it as hard as I could and it moved :) As for the doors, I'll buy some WD-40 asap, sure as hell beats hot water. Thanks a lot again.
