Used my car yesterday afternoon / early evening and locked her up at around 7pm. Sat in for the rest of the evening and retired to bed at 11pm. Just after midnight the car alarm went off. I dashed down stairs to grab the keys and turn the thing off before all the neighbours got upset. I unlocked the doors using the remote, opened the driver's door, shut it and locked the car again by remote. I stood and waited for the obligatory wirring noise to confirm the system is operating, which it did and retired to bed, again. about 10-15 minutes later the alarm goes off again. Same process, rush down stairs, remote unlock to shut the thing up. This time I started the car up, let her run for a minute or two and then did same process as before. Went back to bed, with one eye/ear open in expectation. It did not go off again. Any ideas as to why the thing should spook itself in to operating would be welcome. V70 driver

Mine did the exact same thing a couple of nights after I bought it. (Why do they always go off at night?):mumbles: It's been fine since. Yours probably will be too. Sorry it's not much help Gary, but you're not alone:)

Well I had the same trouble on the 850, and it was an over sensitive glass break sensor, when there was no wind ... fine, bit of breeze and of it went, so I had vsc unplug the sensor and its been sorted ever since. dmw
Strong winds here in the south, probably all round the country, and the thing went off again 25 past midnight. Went down stairs to start the car up, run it for minute or two, shut it down, remote lock, listen for the whir, back to bed, no more problems. I don't understand it. Thanks PnUT for the recommendation re-moth in car to set off the internal motion sensors, but could not establish any. I opened the door, the interior lights came on and waited for the possible manic fluttering of moths wings or something similar but nothing. Thanks also pc654 I will contact my local dealer and ask them how much they can expect to check this out. Looking forward to a night's uninterupted sleep. V70 driver
