Ok... I realized once I posted that I probl wouldn't get much help on this. I'm sure the problem is plug in related. The only thing I can think of is that NI's Guitar Combo isn't compatible maybe. Otherwise, I'm using all approved plugs. Anyone use the NI Combos? J

RE: My Strange (-6085) error experience. HELP!!!!!!
How are your 002 Rack and FireWire drive connected to the iMac? What are the drive specs? How large is the drive? There are a couple of suggestions in this Answerbase item: Try a search on the Answerbase for 6085 to bring up that item and some others. In the Support Search: Choose Answerbase and enter 6085.

What is the serial number on your 002? It is possible that it needs the power harness update - contact Digidesign Tech Support by phone for assistance with that.

I can get it for you tonight. But I will say that the power harness has been replaced once before and the unit has seemingly been right ever since. Do you still want it?? Thanks! Jason
RE: My Strange (-6085) error experience. HELP!!!!!!
Here is my serial UR04905C. Please let me know if I'm to call Tech Support or not. I had the harness problem once before. Digi emailed weird instructions at the time and a got confused and smoked my unit. HA! That sucked. You guys agreed that your documentation was flawed and sent me a brand new unit with the current harness. I remember the way the bad harness acted, and this doesn't do that. Before, you couldn't even get the 002r to "come on line". This one always does. It just performs like poop sometimes. It has a mind of it's own. I'm not sure what else to do. I can send you a list of all my plugs and their versions if you wish. Thanks! jason
RE: My Strange (-6085) error experience. HELP!!!!!!
Hey guys. You know I've been going thru my data/audio drive.. backing things up and preparing to defrag it when I noticed that if you click on the drive with Disk Util, that the Verify/Repair permissions buttons are greyed out. I launched Tech Tool Pro and found that it errored out while checking the file tree, etc. It's making me wonder if maybe something is screwed up with the structure of my FW drive? Surely THIS could cause the intermitant and random Hardware Buffer Errors huh? I'm thinking about backing it ALL up and zeroing that drive totally out and starting fresh. Any suggestions? Jason
RE: My Strange (-6085) error experience. HELP!!!!!!
First - you can only repair permissions on the drive with your OS X install on it. Second - I would try reducing CPU usage to 85-90%, as having it at 99% can cause errors like this. When did you get your unit replaced?
RE: My Strange (-6085) error experience. HELP!!!!!!
The unit was replaced in approx Aug 2003. But used very little in that time period. It seems to be working though. Not sure. I'll experiment with the CPU usage. Thanks, Jason
