How Do It Tighten The Handbrake?

I HAVE A 2000 MODEL V40 1.8 XSI HOW DO I TIGHTEN THE HANDBRAKE IS THE NUT UNDER THE CENTRE CONSOLE OR UNDERNEATH THE CAR ANY HLEP WOULD BE APPRECIATED :huepfen024:

slacken the nut on the cable under the console , make sure the handbrake levers on the rear calipers are fully against the stops ie OFF .. pump the footbrake to adjust the rear calipers , and tighten up the nut under the console to achieve a reasonable handbrake , go back and check the levers on the calipers are still on their stops or the self adjust won't wotk ...
